Considering Getting A Credit Card?

If you are like many other people around this time of year you are considering applying for a credit card. With all the different brands or credit cards, special sign up offers, discounts and varying interest rates it can be a difficult decision to make about where to apply.

We offer some un-biased reviews and information on some of the top credit card companies including tescos and we are not affiliated with any of these companies at all.

Credit Score And Credit Ratings

It is sometimes a common belief that having a credit card is all bad news, debt and borrowing. However, once you scrape over the surface and look into the issue deeper you will discover that it can also bring benefits. Recently when applying for a mortgage i was asked by the mortgage brokers if i owned a credit card. Having never needed one i proudly answered "no". However this was not good for my application as they were looking to see details of my Credit Score as well as my Credit Rating. Without a credit score lenders are unable to judge whether you are responsible with your money or not and if you can pay your bills on time. So having a credit card will start building your credit score and will benefit you in the future as long as you can show you are responsible.

Credit Cards Explained

Ok I have decided i am ready to go ahead and apply, but how does it all work then?

Well a credit card differs slightly from your typical debit card in the respect that you don't have to pay the full balance of what you have spent at the end of each month. So the first advantage of the credit card is that you do not have to pay the outstanding debt at the end of each month you can accumulate what you owe and simply pay the interest on what you owe. This gives the customer the convenience of knowing they can spend without having to working out their remaining balance. Credit cards also offer a host of other benefits explained in our other articles. Some of the major providers include:
